NEW WAGE STRUCTURE
The purpose of this job is to safely weld in all position according to company specifications and standard work.
Job duties/Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Follow documented procedures standard work routings and blueprints to perform safe and defect free operations.
Hand weld all plain and alloy structural steel in all positions.
Use of jib or gantry crane to manually position weld equipment.
Grind and dress fabricated weldments.
May operate forklift scissor lift and area lift to access weldments.
Required Qualifications:
1 experience with Fluxcored arc welding (FCAW)
Experience with 35 Multi Pass welds on Heavy 1 Plate
Experience or knowledge of back gouging carbon arcing or air arcing
Safety first mindset.
Ability to work overtime to support production demands.

Ability to read blueprints.
Ability to work well individually and in a team environment.

Additional Information:
This position is located at the Caterpillar manufacturing facility located in South Milwaukee WI.
2nd and 3rd shift available
Pay starts at Step 1 $28.17 Step 2 $29.27 after passing 2 of 4 tests Step 3 $30.38 after passing 3 of 4 tests.
Once employee passes all four required certification tests will be placed at Step 1 of Welder pay scale $32.07; Step 2 $33.26 Step 3 $34.44 plus shift premium of $1.00 for 2nd shift or 3rd shift.
Employee will be placed on shift selected by the Company 2nd or 3rd shift) after passing certification tests.
Full Time 40 hours 5 days/week)
No relocation assistance is available.
