We are seeking Estimating Students for our Toronto District in Oakville Ontario within ourCanadian Buildings Divisionthat are availablefor a minimum of 4 months starting in September 2022.
Responsibilities
As an Estimating Studentand depending on your assigned project heres how you will contribute to the team:
- Understand and utilize PCLs estimating manuals systems and forms.
- Review quantity survey assignment with lead estimator or Chief Estimator.
- Gets the chance to perform assigned quantity survey and transfer quantities to the lead estimator.
- Provides quantities of major purchase items to purchasing department for pricing.
- Creates an impact by performing general subtrade solicitation duties and helping with bid document control.
- Has the opportunity to perform bid day assignments.
- Experiences visiting the job sites periodically.
- Develops relationships with subcontractors.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
What you will bring to the role:
- Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
- Application of various computer software programs will be required including word processing spreadsheet applications and drafting.
