Salado Isolation Mining Contractors (SIMCO) an LLC of Bechtel managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as an Instrumentation and Control Technician Trainee to join our team located in Carlsbad NM
The Instrumentation and Control Technician Trainee will have the capability to perform a wide variety of tasks requiring experience and knowledge of Electronics Calibration Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) principles. Follow all safety procedures regulations and policies. Conduct frequent inspections of work area to ensure that safe working conditions are maintained. Promptly report any hazards or unsafe conditions to management. Demonstrated experience or documented training that includes planning layout installation troubleshooting calibration and repair of electronics pneumatics Instrumentation and Controls Systems and Fire Alarm System Maintenance. Knowledge of radiation detection principles is preferred. Successful candidate will be required to complete specified qualifications within one year from date of employment. Successful candidate will be also be required to be Radiological Worker Powered Assisted Particulate Respirator (PAPR) qualified and Underground qualified.
This is a USW Bargaining Unit Position
Pay Rate is $37.74 per hour
