About the role
Ideas and experiments take many iterations to make it to reality. You will be crucial in transforming advanced systems into sleek compact and highperforming wearable devices. We are looking for a Lab Manager and prolific prototyper who has a proven record of bringing new technologies off the drawing board. This position perfectly blends innovation with executionsupporting the hardware development process from initial concept and rapid prototyping to fullscale production.
Responsibilities:
Assembly testing debugging and rework of compact electromechanical systems including finepitched soldering smallscale paste/reflow; custom cables and adapters; and subcm enclosures with plastic/metal/composite materials.
Order use and maintain electrical test equipment including oscilloscopes power supplies DMMs spectrum analyzers and standardspecific compliance testers.
Develop and maintain build & debug procedures for prototypes.
Operation and debugging of automated component test and data collection systems.
Engage and manage fabrication vendors to deliver components PCB/PCBAs and metal/plastic parts for prototypes.
Manage lab space equipment supplies and inventory.
Required qualifications:
5 years of experience in consumer electronics.
Soldering/reflow expertise down to 01005/0201/QFN/BGA fine pitch.
A steady hand with the Dremel and the discretion to wield it responsibly.
Understanding of electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Comfortable selecting operating and maintaining benchtop electrical test equipment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Safety conscious dependable and positive attitude.
Ability and interest to solve problems outside of your expertise.
Preferred qualifications:
Wearables or Soft Goods experience
Basic understanding of firmware or software test scripts
MCAD and ECAD Experience
CNC Mill/Laser or 3D printing fabrication experience
Eyewear fabrication
