Job Description
The Department ofPhilosophyat The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for an open rank positionto beginin theFalltermof academic year 202526 with a specialization inethics value theory and political philosophy and a research focus on decision theory and the role of decisiontheoretic issues and conceptual tools.We seek a scholar at the rank offull Professorbut we will consider candidates for appointment at any level.
The search will be conducted in collaboration with the UniversitysPopulation Wellbeing Initiative with which the successful candidate would be affiliated. That initiatives core research includes questions about the ordering of preferences and the aggregation and distribution of wellbeing.
Duties will include undergraduate and graduateteachingresearch and service to the department college and university.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D.as of the date of appointment.
