Were looking for a passionate Business Controls Analyst to join our Business Controls Office on a 12month fixed term contract.

Our Business Controls Office is responsible for the Operational Regulatory and Compliance Risk activities undertaken in our 1st Line of Defence for Retail Bank Chief Operations Office (COO). Our team provides support through advice guidance and assurance and continuous improvement activities.

Youll be responsible for supporting COO teams in the identification and management of nonfinancial risk (operational regulatory and compliance risks) in line with our Risk Appetite Statement policies and regulatory obligations.

This role can be based in Sydney or Wyong. A Wyong based candidate will be expected to travel to the Sydney office 2 days per week.

What youll do

  • Monitor and track nonfinancial risk items (Issues and Events) and ensure timely completion aligned to policy and procedure.
  • Perform Key Control Testing (KCT) in line with the timeframes set out in the annual KCT plan and report on findings to management.
  • Manage data quality and QA activities across systems including development of best practice guidelines.
  • Report analyse and provide insights to support the COO business in effective identification and management of nonfinancial risks.
  • Work with COO teams and 1st Line and 2nd Line of Defence teams (reporting to CRO) to drive improvements to processes tools and systems used in management of nonfinancial risk.
  • Develop expertise in Bank NonFinancial Risk policies and standards to ensure compliance across the Retail & Wholesale business.
  • Develop expertise in compliance and regulatory obligations areas and report applicable findings to the Bank.

What were looking for

  • Previous experience as an analyst from a similar role ideally within 1st of 2nd Line risk. A background within banking will be essential for this role.
  • Sound knowledge of regulatory and compliance regimes (AML/KYC Privacy BCOP Responsible Lending).
  • Excellent relationship management skills and the ability to communicate and influence stakeholders.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills including Excel Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong problem solving critical analysis and business writing skills.
