Sioufas & Associates Law Firm a leading Greek law firm with offices in three major cities of Greece (Athens Thessaloniki and Patras) and Romania is currently looking for an Associate Lawyer with expertise in Banking Law and Project Finance who would like to join its dynamic motivated and highly skilled team of qualified attorneys.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in banking law specifically in project and corporate finance and will be responsible for providing legal counsel advice and representation to our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will cover a variety of legal issues concerning finance transactions. Amongst others the following responsibilities apply to this position:

  • Conduct consultations with clients (either credit institutions or corporate entities seeking for financing) to structure their potential transactions and assist them in the legal aspects of the implementation thereof
  • Drafting and/or commenting and negotiating finance documents (including but not limited to credit facilities syndicated and bilateral bond loans etc.
  • Drafting and/or commenting and negotiating any other relevant to the financing transaction documents such as NDAs mandate letters engagement letters term sheets etc.
  • Drafting and negotiating sophisticated security packages and ensuring their perfection
  • Drafting of corporate resolutions related to the finance transaction
  • Checking the fulfillment of conditions precedent and handling postclosing finance transactions issues
  • Staying updated with development programs RRF financing and any other cofinancing or guarantee programs launched by EIB and other similar organizations
  • Handling multiple and complex legal issues demonstrating initiative and flexibility ability to deliver highquality work within demanding timeframes
  • Participating in client meetings / conferences
  • Maintaining consistent and transparent communication with clients keeping them informed about the progress of their cases and addressing any inquiries in a prompt and appropriate manner
  • Working effectively as part of a team as an active member and sharing knowledge and experience with other associates


Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Law
  • A Master of Laws is desirable
  • Qualification as an AttorneyatLaw in Greece
  • 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney preferably in a leading law firm and/or large inhouse department
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing banking law with focus on corporate and project finance.
  • Excellent written communication and drafting skills
  • Fluency in the English language on both levels of oral communication and legal writing skills
  • Business acumen with a solutionoriented approach
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
