Join the power movement as a Cryogenics Engineer Coop
The Cryogenics team is an enthusiastic group of fulltime engineers with backgrounds that span from Aerospace to National Labs to Start Ups. Our goal is to develop cryogenic helium systems that are critical to keeping the HTS magnets within superconducting temperatures. We work in a fastpaced and strategically collaborativeenvironmentto take designs from concept to hardwareimplementation and testingwithin extremely short time spans. We are looking for an energeticand resourcefulcoop student to join our team. Within this coop you will be working on engineering design and analysis.
This coop position requires 6 months fulltime hours and onsite in our Devens MA location.
Program Details:
- 6 month coop
- 4050 hours per week with set hourly salary based on year in school
- Opportunity in Devens MA. You will be responsible for your own transportation and housing
- Specific project assignments and required technical skillset will vary based on the teams existing need.
- Opportunities available for currently enrolled college students in all levels of schooling from bachelors degree to PhD
- Interns must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer
What youll do:
- Turnaround tooling design
- CFD analysis and design of a flow straightener
- Scheme for cooldown of a cryogenic system
- Develop and design test plans for a cryogenic tank
- Design of an environmental enclosure for instrumentation
- Learning objectives would include but not be limited to:
- 1 Process engineering. Read and develop key engineering documents e.g. process flow diagrams (PFDs) piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
- 2 Thermohydraulics analysis. Drive down technical risk through analysis using engineering tools
- 3 Project management. Build manage and report on project milestones building schedules
What were looking for:
- Preferred majors include Chemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering
- Enthusiasm to learn (design and engineering company processes) and collaborate in a group setting
- Exposure to process fluid systems and process flow schematics
- Exposure to fluid dynamics and thermodynamics
- Experience collecting troubleshooting and interpreting data measurements
- Exposureto CAD and FEA/CFD software
- Interest in entrepreneurship
Musthave Requirements:
- Willingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/oncall occasionally
- Perform activities such as typing standing or sitting for extended periods of time
- Dedication to safety to mitigate industrial hazards that may include heat cold noise fumes strong magnets lead (Pb) high voltage and cryogenics
$23 $35 an hour
Salary range for this fulltime position benefits.The actual salary will depend on level location qualifications and experience. The range displayed on each job posting reflects new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Benefits include:
