Job Description
The Deerfield Park Districts mission is to provide outstanding parks services facilities and recreation programs that enrich lives promote healthy living and provide memorable experiences. To support our over 25 parks and facilities we have a dedicated and diverse workforce of over 500 staff seasonally. We are looking for someone to come teach our Design art rotation and make it their own! Whether its recycled art multimedia art etc. the choice is yours. We have a flexible team that loves new and innovative ideas that they can pass on to the campers and show them a new way of looking at art.Assitedirector you would create a lesson plan for the summer put together a supplies list for the supervisor and then get to spend your day with the campers teaching art!

We are looking for:
Summer Day Site Director(PartTime)focusing on Art Summer Camp 7:309:30a; 8:30a4:00p; (hours and days vary by camp)
Pay rate:The starting target pay rate is $20 per hour potentially increasing to $22.50 based on longevity with the Park District.

- Develop and implement weekly schedules for camp groups.
- Supervise campers ensuring adherence to program rules safety and regulations.
- Collaborate with counselors to plan and deliver engaging group activities.
- Lead ageappropriate activities
- Address and manage camper behavior issues effectively.
- Maintain a clean organized and litterfree camp environment.
- Communicate with parents about camper experiences and report concerns to leadership.
- Actively participate in camp activities as a positive role model.
- Preferred to have experience in ceramics drawing painting and/or design.
Requirements
- Incumbents must be at least 16 years old except for extended care positions where individuals as young as 15 are eligible. Ability to create a positive and supportive environment for children.
- Ability to connect effectively with preschool and elementary schoolaged children while being attentive and responsive to their individual needs.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and a genuine commitment to working with children ranging from age three to8th grade.
- Ability to conduct oneself professionally and serve as a role model to the children.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and be on your feet for long periods of time.
- Must pass a background check
Camps operate from June 16 to August1 with training scheduled during the week of June 9. Staff are expected to commit to working for the entire summer season
Wage Range: $20 $22.50 starting pay at the base of range.
