    SALARY RANGE: $17.43 Minimum$26.15 Maximum PAY GRADE: PS4


    PRIMARY PURPOSE:
    The Central Library Services Clerk performs clerical duties and office operations for the District Library Services Department and provides support to all district librarians to ensure they meet the library media program objectives.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    TEA certification requirements
    High School Graduate or GED
    Ability to type 45 words per minute 60 or more works per minute is preferred)
    Competence in office procedures and the operation of common office equipment including computers
    Knowledge of library automation systems inventory standards and procedures.
    Knowledge of Dewey Decimal System and other cataloging procedures.
    The ability to write clear and concise memoranda directives or letters without close supervision.
    The ability to meet the public in a pleasant composed and cordial manner and to speak clearly and effectively.
    The ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with all district employees as well as the general public.
    Knowledge of operations functions and general scope of authority of the School Administration and School Board
    The ability to maintain confidentiality with delicate information
    The ability to handle delegated administrative details

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
    Receives visitors ascertains the purpose of the visit attends to visitors business or refers him/her to the proper person or office.
    Utilizes the ECISD budget on line system ITCCS to compile budget and cost estimates based upon documented program needs and is authorized to check electronic finance accounts periodically for al libraries to ensure budget are utilized.
    Coordinates and serves as the contact with state local and national level Spelling Bee.
    Communicates with librarians on disseminating new development in library media programs technology instructional strategies and research.
    Assists with ongoing coordination of planning and delivery of staff development and meetings to all district library staff.
    Keeps systematic records and data so that programs run effectively and efficiently.
    Prepares and submits reports to appropriate administrative personnel and campus librarians.
    Assist campus librarians with assessing and developing goals and objectives for each campus that are aligned to the district goals and objectives meet exemplary level based on Texas Library standards.
    Articulates a code of ethics that promotes adherence to copyright guidelines
    Assists with organization of library books core setup for all existing campus libraries in the school district and helps with processing of library books at campuses when needed.
    Review library Marc reports as needed.
    Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others.
    Performs other related duties as assigned.
