Description
The Service Delivery Technology team in the Information Technology and Records Management division of Health and Human Services is seeking to hire a student to participate in a parttime internship as a software development intern. The Service Delivery Technology team is responsible for developing and maintaining custom applications that meet the business needs of the department. As a member of an Agile SCRUM team responsibilities include participating in the analysis design development testing debugging deployment and support of custom applications.

This position is hybrid and will be performed both onsite at the Government Center 300 South 6th street Minneapolis MN 55487 and remote as job duties require. The intern is scheduled to work 20 hours per week Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. 4:30 p.m. The internship will start in May 2025 and last for up to one year with the possibility to extend up to an additional one year. While this position is designated as hybrid based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.

In this position you will:- Participate in developing and supporting applications that are based on ObjectOriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) ObjectOriented Programming (OOP) Microsoft .NET C# Angular Typescript TestDriven Development (TDD) Secure Coding PrimeNG HTML5 CSS3 JavaScript SASS REST APIs SQL Server etc. and deployed to Azure Cloud Infrastructure.
- Participate in eliciting functional nonfunctional and security requirements as a prerequisite to developing applications.
- Work with various teams (Business Development Security Operations etc..
- Participate in Code Reviews.
- Write necessary documentation.
- Promote and follow software engineering standards and best practices
Need to have:- One of the following:
- Current enrollment as of Spring 2025 in an associate bachelors or masters degree program in IT or a related field.
- Recent graduate (within 6 months of graduation) from an associate bachelors or masters degree program in ITor a related field.
- Access to reliable internet connection and selfsupport hybrid office space.
Nice to have:- Experience with:
- Software Engineering using such technologies as .NET C# TestDriven Development (TDD) Angular HTML5 CSS3 SASS SCSS JavaScript Typescript OOAD (Object Oriented Analysis and Design) concepts OOP (ObjectOriented Programming) Data Structures SQL APIs Source Control and Azure Cloud Infrastructure.
- Participating in peer code review exercises.
- Knowledge of user experience (UX) design concepts.
- Ability to:
- Learn and apply software troubleshooting techniques.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors developers and other county staff in a professional courteous and respectful manner.
