About the role:
As an Engineering Manager at Samsara you will lead teams to develop features that have a tangible impact on active and future customers. Youll hire and develop your team define project plans and roadmaps and work with your engineers to define nextgeneration technology across our Safety products.
This is a remote position open to candidates residing in Canada. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.

In this role you will:
- Lead teams in delivering products and capabilities that contribute to Samsaras products and revenue.
- Manage a team of engineers ensuring alignment with business objectives and optimizing team productivity.
- Manage a team of engineers on our VideoSafety products solving complex technical problems guiding architectural decisions improving quality and owning key aspects of our tech stack.
- Ensure longterm scalability by driving key architectural outcomes and overseeing technical solutions that support both immediate needs and future growth.
- Collaborate with senior management and crossfunctional teams to align technical roadmaps with product and business goals influencing broader organizational strategies.
- Foster a culture of performance and accountability by conducting regular performance reviews addressing underperformance and mentoring team members for growth.
- Champion role model and embed Samsaras cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success Build for the Long Term Adopt a Growth Mindset Be Inclusive Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.

Minimum requirements for the role:
- 7 years of engineering experience including 2 years managing teams of engineers.
- Proven expertise in developing embedded software applications
- Proven track record of applying best practices in development testing and deployment with a handson approach to code quality and architecture reviews.
- Demonstrated ability to spearhead strategic initiatives drive alignment across teams and influence without direct authority.
- Strong experience in project management managing multiple projects simultaneously using agile development methods and tools.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines automated testing frameworks and improving release processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage largescale changes while maintaining team productivity and engagement during transitions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
An ideal candidate also has:
- Experience developing embedded software applications in Golang
- Experience with Atlassian tool set (e.g.; Jira Confluence etc.
- Experience with network protocols (e.g.; TCP/IP HTTP gRPC etc. and wireless technologies (e.g.; WiFi Bluetooth etc.
- BS and/or MS in Computer Science or related field
