Position Summary
As a Senior Network Engineer you will play a critical role in designing implementing and maintaining our CDN infrastructure. You will work closely with crossfunctional teams to ensure optimal network performance security and scalability. This position requires a deep understanding of network protocols CDN technologies and a proactive approach to problemsolving. This position reports to the Director of Network Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Design implement and manage robust network infrastructures to support our CDN services.
- Optimize network performance and reliability by monitoring analyzing and troubleshooting network issues.
- Collaborate with software development security and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of network solutions.
- Lead network architecture design and review sessions providing expert insights and recommendations.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation including design diagrams configuration details and operational procedures.
- Conduct regular security assessments and implement measures to safeguard network infrastructure against potential threats.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior network engineers fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in CDN and networking technologies recommending innovative solutions to enhance our service offerings.
- Participate in oncall rotation and respond to network incidents promptly to minimize service disruptions.
Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in network engineering with a focus on largescale CDN or ISP environments.
- Strong expertise in network protocols (BGP OSPF MPLS TCP/IP) routing and switching.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices (routers switches firewalls) from vendors such as Cisco Juniper etc.
- Ability to turn up BGP with transits and public/IX peers
- Understanding of OSI layers 1 through 3
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting ECMP and LACP
- Management of data center cross connects
- Experience with Ansible / BGP Anycast / BGP communities and traffic engineering / Kentik or netflow/sflow and Linux scripting
- Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fastpaced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
- Proven track record of leading network projects and delivering highquality results.
