In support for the University Strategic Plan and Future Horizon IT Services seeks to drive the transformation of a truly innovative digital technology experience in creating a vibrant campus for business industry startups health sectors local and global investors researchers students alumni and the broader community to come together to learn innovate and collaborate.
Your New Role!
The Standard Operating Environment (SOE) Engineer is responsible for managing maintaining and deploying application packaging and deployment services across the Universitys enduser managed computing environment.
Your key responsibilities will include
- Managing and maintaining End User Computing SOE.
- Oversee regular testing and maintenance of patches and support packages for the SOE ensuring currency of SOE components on all managed devices.
- Maintain and support Group Policy configuration.
- Resolve routine adhoc & complex enquiries related to SOE services.

This Continuous Full Time 37.5 hours per week) attracts a remuneration of $95000 $105000 plus 17 employer superannuation contributions.

Selection Criteria:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in computing or related field or an equivalentcombination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated experience in SOE application packaging and support maintenanceand implementation for Windows 10 MacOS and Office 365.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Windows family of End User ComputingOperating Systems and applications.
- Strong experience administering Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Strong experience with enterprise deployment and management tools (I.e. SCCM).
- Working Knowledge of Incident Problem Change and Configuration Management(ITIL) processes.
- Excellent documentation skills for user training and technical documents.
- Experience in Application packaging and deployment methodologies (Microsoft AppVMSI Windows Installer).
- Demonstrated experience with Scripting tools (Powershell VBScript preferred).
- Advanced software hardware and environmental troubleshooting ability.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service and a professional approach toproviding technical support and advice.
- Demonstrated sound and interpersonal skills to enable effective communication andpositive relationships with customers colleagues and service providers.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and as part of a team to manage workloadand priorities.
- Using and contributing to the ongoing development of a comprehensiveknowledgebase of support and selfhelp information
