Job Summary: As a Power Supply Design Engineer you will be responsible for:
- Proposing power supply solution architectures component selection detailed electrical design peer reviews and work product corrections.
- Developing and drafting electrical circuit schematics.
- Providing guidance for PCB component placement routing and conducting PCB reviews.
- Performing board bring-up product testing and preparing prototypes/test jigs for verification.
- Coordinating with internal and external teams for validation activities.
- Selecting suppliers for PCB fabrication and outsourcing activities.
- Collaborating with mechanical and firmware engineers for integration testing and product release activities.
Key Skills:
- A minimum of 10-years designing high-frequency efficient AC-DC DC-AC and DC-DC converters for power step-up/step-down applications.
- Strong background in transformer design and power supply designs including Buck Boost Flyback Half-Bridge and Full-Bridge topologies.
- Power Source Equipment (PSE) and Powered Device (PD) design experience for Power over Ethernet data communication applications preferred.
- Proficient in analog-digital mixed signal design.
- Experience with IEEE 803.3 Ethernet physical layer technology solutions and networking.
General Skills:
- Hands-on experience in designing power supplies and electronic products including an understanding of wind converters and their applications in traction drives etc.
- Proficient with power converter topologies (Buck Boost Flyback Forward Half-Bridge Full-Bridge) and control techniques.
- Experience in control system design including PWM control techniques.
- Transformer and inductor design expertise with knowledge of core materials insulation classes laminations and magnetic components (common & differential mode chokes).
- Skilled in insertion loss calculations for magnetic components.
- Electrical and electronic component selection including relays switches resistors inductors transformers capacitors semiconductors (MOSFETs BJTs Diodes LEDs Zeners Triacs TVS etc.).
- Knowledge of noise (common and differential mode) management.
- Expertise in control systems loop compensation testing and measurement techniques.
- Experience working with microcontrollers DSPs and designing analog and digital circuit interfaces.
- Proven track record in PCB layout design and compliance with PCB requirements.
- Experience with EMC EMI and safety standards.
- Ability to develop and maintain engineering documents in compliance with CMMI and IATF standards.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to make informed decisions on technical matters.
- Familiarity with LTSpice PSIM and similar CAD tools.
- Working knowledge of Altium Designer preferred.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills essential.
Qualifications:
- ME/MTech/BE (EEE/ECE)/ (EEE/ECE) or equivalent in relevant branches.
- 10 years of experience in designing power electronic products.
