Salary/Wage Range: $18.21 $20.43 based on years of experience

Under the direct supervision of the Recreation Manager the Swim Instructor provides direct leadership instruction and motivation for students and families in group private and semiprivate swim lessons. Swim Instructors is responsible for ensuring a safe and positive pool environment.

While performing the essential functions this position may be exposed to weather extremes especially sun in the summer. There may also be daily exposure to fumes energized equipment potential hazards illnesses and irritants such as dust dirt and fumes. While working indoors this position may also be exposed to high chlorine levels. All mental and physical demands listed herein may not be conducted every day but may be conducted and not limited to 23 times per week. Activities that will occur frequently 4 to 7 hours are lifting or moving up to 25 pounds. The noise level may vary from quiet to extremely loud. Activities that will occur occasionally 1 to 3 hours are interpersonal skills and concentration. Activities that occur infrequently up to 60 minutes are: lifting or moving up to 100 or more pounds problemsolving analytical ability verbal communication written communication organizational skills creativity working with interruptions and time management.
