Chen Moore and Associates is hiring a Principal Engineer of Senior Engineer to perform Project Management. This position will provide program management support and oversight related to Broward County Transportation Departments (BCT) capital projects (Capital Projects) for the 30year Transportation Surtax that is anticipated to receive over $16 Billion in local funds for transportation projects between. The Transportation Surtax Plan provides for various Capital Projects including approximately 32.6 miles of Light Rail Transit (LRT) 150 miles of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) new transit service systemwide new local bus routes realignment and extension of existing fixed bus routes expansion of the community shuttle program new Mobility on Demand (MOD) service and other multimodal investments and transit facility expansions and improvements.

Candidates should be able to efficiently plan and organize workload demonstrate success working with a team of professionals a commitment to quality good communication skills and a positive work ethic. Florida Department of Transportation experience is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project Management of planning design and potentially construction management of rail transit roadway and transit oriented land development projects.
  • Managing activities related to project scope schedule cost quality communications resources and risk elements to optimize client service quality and fiscal responsibility.
  • Project outlines project initiation project schedules project executions and project closeout
  • Lead specification and contract document preparation including permitting and stakeholder involvement.
  • Manage daytoday activities of project engagements including clients and project teams.
  • Successfully interface with multidisciplinary design teams that include consultant and owner team members.
  • Achieve project objectives including quality/scopes budgets and schedules.
  • Mentor engineering staff.
  • Assist in marketing business opportunities with key clients and development of responses to RFPs/RFQs.
  • Develop and maintain continuing business relationships with clients as part of ongoing business development efforts.
  • Participate in local professional organizations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree in civil or environmental engineering
  • Masters degree is a plus.
  • 7 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Strong client relationship skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Strong sense of urgency project responsibility and initiative
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal written and interpersonal skills.
