Job Description
The Analytics and Reporting Specialist role requires an individual with a minimum of 35 years of experience who possesses an advanced degree in analytics or an equivalent field coupled with business acumen. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with business partners and have subject matter expertise with strong experience in researching designing and implementing data models and statistical algorithms to analyze diverse sources of highdimensional and fastmoving data to build continually learning systems. They must have a technical background and experience in big data advanced analytics machine learning data discovery data preparation and visualization with specific expertise in Google technologies such as BigQuery Google
Cloud Storage and Google Data Studio.
Job Description
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lead and/or partner with clients in planning designing implementing optimizing
administering and evaluating BI solutions including big data solutions open
data queries reports dashboards and other visualizations based on
stakeholders needs
Leverage business and statistical knowledge to transform data into actionable
insights
Elicit document and confirm business requirements and technical specifications
Define reporting and dashboard standards for the integration and governance of
enterprise data
Design metadata management programs and scripts
Define and evaluate conceptual logical and physical BI solution architectures
Design business information structures (cubes dimensions facts tables etc.
Perform data quality assessments data transformation and data cleansing
Develop test scripts and perform testing of BI solutions
Mentor and coach clients and Client Success team members on BI knowledge
and skills
Qualifications:
Expertise in Google Cloud technologies such as BigQuery Google Cloud
Storage and Google Data Studio for data processing storage and visualization
Knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) and data analytics data warehouse
design development and support
Experience with Data quality data profiling and duplication management and
health data systems
Experience with Informatica for data extraction transformation and loading
(ETL) initial setup troubleshooting performance tuning failover and recovery
would be an asset
Familiarity with SQL PL/SQL XML optimized database queries and data
architecture and modeling is a plus
3 years of experience working with technical systems specifications and
translating them into working tested applications for large complex mission
critical applications
3 years of experience in technical analysis program code detailed
programming report specifications program design and/or generating code and
conducting unit tests
3 years of experience in software across various computing platforms operating
systems database technologies communication protocols middleware and
gateways
3 years of experience in developing and maintaining system design models
technical documentation and specifications
Critical thinking analytical and problemsolving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong consulting skills to engage with all stakeholders
Proven track record for building strong working relationships
Excellent customer service skills including tact and diplomacy to ensure client
needs are managed effectively
A motivated flexible creative team player with perseverance excellent multi
tasking abilities and a proven track record for meeting strict deadlines
Experience using big data batch and streaming tools (including Google Cloud
Pub/Sub and Dataflow)
Expert knowledge of data modeling and understanding of different data
structures
Demonstrated ability to facilitate and work with minimal direction with the proven
ability to coordinate complex activities
Nice to Have:
Experience with Cognos (v11 report design and development Framework
Manager Query Studio Reports Studio and creation of dashboards
Knowledge of Crystal Reports and Business Objects
Cognos SDK experience and Java knowledge
