Responsibilities
- Oversees all project building systems installations with overall management responsibility of building systems trade contractors consultants and owner requirements.
- Ensures systems are installed in sequence as per project schedule. Responsible for multiple projects at a time.
- Manages local authority requirements (building fire electrical and mechanical) as per inspections and code.
- Reviews building system trades progress for compliance with drawings specifications quality schedule and constructability. Identifies risks and opportunities and communicates to the project team.
- Processes critical building systems submittals coordination documents and reports.
- Provides input on schedule development and implementation to the project team as they pertain to the of building systems.
- Reviews negotiates and processes change notices/orders related to building systems and assesses their effect on the project budget scope and schedule.
- Designs lays out and manages the procurement of temporary utility services (e.g. power water gas storm and sewer connections) for their inclusion in the construction plan. Ensures alignment with site supervision expectations.
- Liaises with utility providers to provide services to project as per project schedule.
- Leads the project team and is responsible overall for the of the building systems commissioning process.
- Ensures that building systems closeout process is in place and leads the reviewing progress accordingly.
- Effectively communicates with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Provides recommendations to the project site staff regarding projectspecific improvements that may impact building systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in a related discipline is preferred (e.g. mechanical electrical controls).
- 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in mechanical/electrical construction in a healthcare setting required.
- Indepth knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems principles and practices.
- Strong understanding of key building systems including security fire alarm heating ventilation air conditioning (HVAC) building automation systems (BAS) and information communication automation and technology (ICAT).
- Ability to facilitate the coordination of mechanical electrical architectural civil and structural drawings and specifications.
- Understands and abides by all industry and government processes and regulations.
- Demonstrated leadership communication and interpersonal skills are a must. Impeccable speaking grammar and writing skills are required.
- Dedication and one who partners well but is proactive in driving opportunities and ideas forward.
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
- Planning organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask prioritize tasks with conflicting deadlines and delegate tasks.
- Travel and/or temporary project assignments (including out of town work) will be expected.
