    Salary Range

    School Year $85812 $153847

    Up to two 2 stipends available for Masters Doctorate Special Education Credential National Board Certification or Bilingual authorization.

    A Hiring Bonuswill be offered for hard to fill positions (Special Education BCLAD) $10000hiring bonus paid over 3 years.

    Position Description

    Conducts speech and language assessments evaluation reports disability recommendations and provides speech and language services for students ages three and above with communication and articulation disabilities; serves as a resource for general education and special education teachers and administrators.

    Qualifications

    1 A California license in SpeechLanguage Pathology issued by SpeechLanguage Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board.

    2 A California credential authorizing language or speech services.

    Desirable

    1 Training and experience in Augmentative and Alternative Communication Systems

    Bilingual Competency and/or Certification

    Bilingual Speech and Language Pathologists must hold state bilingual certification.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Develops and implements service plans and goals designed to meet the individual communicative needs of each student

    Conducts speech and language assessments in compliance with District policies and state and federal regulations

    Identifies students with speech and language impairment through comprehensive concise written assessment reports and Districtapproved assessment instruments

    Participates in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings to present assessment results and progress reports

    Provides continuous evaluation of students progress toward IEP goals

    Identifies students eligible for service completion and adequately prepares students school staff and parents for a transition phase of therapy prior to the recommendation for dismissal Participates in Student Success Team (SST) meetings

    Plans organizes serves and assesses at assigned school sites and additional school sites as needed

    Conducts screenings and diagnostic evaluations

    Works with children with a wide range of disabilities from mild or moderate to severe and/or multiple disorders

    Provides services on an individual smallgroup or classroom basis

    Works on listening speaking reading writing and learning strategies in general education and special education classrooms

    Collaborates with and trains other professionals and parents to facilitate students academic communication and social skills in an educational environment

    Develops Individualized Family Service Plans and Individualized Education Programs Keeps and maintains service logs as directed

    Consults and collaborates with other educators and related professionals

    Supervises clinical practicums and clinical fellowships as assigned

    Other duties as assigned
