GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Under direction of the Head of Upper School and the World Languages Department Head the Upper School French teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing lessons for multiple levels of French courses facilitating student language acquisition and conversational confidence through strategies that focus on providing comprehensible input. Qualified candidates will be able to create and provide an environment conducive to the intellectual physical social and emotional development of adolescents to ensure success for each student as well as monitor and evaluate academic outcomes. The teacher will also serve as an advisor to a group of Upper School students and will supervise students in a variety of schoolrelated settings. All Cape Henry Collegiate teachers are expected to communicate and interact with students parents staff and community in a manner that represents the mission and core values of the school.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree in French or a valid teaching credential from an accredited college or university or considerable relevant experience. Candidates with a Masters Degree and/or state teaching license will be given preferential treatment. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted in some areas.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
