JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Description: Membership and Outreach Attendants must be dynamic problemsolving Penn State students with the ability to uphold Campus Recreation policies and procedures. They must have the ability to excel in customer service and engage with patrons. Attendants must have the knowledge and skills to answer telephone calls work facetoface with patrons and provide facility tours to guests.
Responsibilities
- Greeting patrons with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
- Conduct membership and locker sales transactions and process program registrations efficiently.
- Troubleshooting issues with membership and locker sales and renewals.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering inquiries about Campus Recreation programs and services and directing patrons to appropriate staff when needed.
- Assist in answering telephones and engage with patrons facetoface.
- Conduct facility tours for guests.
- Promote Penn State Campus Recreation memberships programs and services to the community.
- Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Personal/Professional Development and Responsibilities

- Balance time commitments.
- Give and receive performance feedback.
- Recognize limitations and work to improve.
- To function as a contributing member of the Campus Recreation team.
Requirements
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check.
- Ability to positively interact with patrons and employees alike.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
Working Conditions
- Average of 610 hours worked per week.
- Work will take place on the University Park Campus.
- Must be able to accommodate a variable work schedule that will include mornings evening weekends and University breaks.
Campus Recreation is a department within Student Affairs that provides fitness wellness and recreational programs to the campus community through the operation and administration of the new expanded and renovated 200000 sf Intramural Building the McCoy Natatorium the 700acre Stone Valley Outdoor Recreation Area a Tennis Center including six clay courts and four indoor courts the White Building Outdoor Adventures Aquatics Club Sports Fitness and Wellness Programs and Intramural Sports.
