POSITION SUMMARY:
The Junior Desktop Support Specialist is a vital role within our organizations IT department. This position is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to endusers ensuring the smooth operation of desktop systems software applications and peripheral devices. The Junior Desktop Support Specialist will work closely with the IT Team providing essential support functions and contributing to the overall efficiency of our IT infrastructure.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with the IT Manager to support the overall IT infrastructure including servers backup systems and phone systems.
- Assist in the procurement and inventory management of laptop hardware software licences and peripheral devices. Collaborate with vendors to ensure timely delivery and proper installation of equipment.
- Monitor system performance health and security while proactively identifying potential issues and implementing preventative risk mitigation.
- Contribute to proactive maintenance strategies to ensure optimal system performance and minimize downtime.
- Manage employee support tickets daily using our ticketing system Desk365.
- Administrate Windows Active Directory Azure EntraID/365 Exchange and other Microsoft Admin center environments.
- Support network and traffic management across three sites using Cisco Meraki.
- Assist with mobile device management using Intune.
- Contribute to current and ongoing IT projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
- 12 years of experience in desktop support help desk or technical support roles is desirable.
- Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills with a customercentric approach.
- Familiarity with hardware components and peripheral devices (e.g. Printers scanners mobile devices).
- Understanding of basic networking concepts and protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fastpaced environment.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and keepup with industry trends.
- Ability to speak French would be an asset.
