Job Description
Job Title: Sr. PowerBuilder Developer
Duration: 9 months
Location: Colorado Springs Colorado (W2Contract)

Job Summary: The Senior PowerBuilder Developer serves as a technical expert and leader responsible for developing and maintaining multiple applications while mentoring junior developers. This role is highly customerfocused and involves collaboration across teams to design implement and support technical solutions. The Senior Developer operates throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and contributes to modernization and replacement planning as applications reach their sunset stage.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and maintenance of applications using PowerBuilder with PFC (PowerBuilder Foundation Class) libraries.
Work closely with business analysts and customers to gather and understand requirements.
Apply secure programming techniques and industry best practices.
Perform unit testing configuration management source code control deployment and release management.
Document and comment code for peer review and testing purposes.
Provide operational support including troubleshooting bug fixes and system enhancements.
Resolve routine tickets and support ongoing system improvements.
Collaborate with thirdparty vendors and contractors effectively presenting complex business rules using graphical tools.
Work in an Agile development environment contributing to sprint planning and team collaboration.
Conduct topdown testing across various application interfaces including those developed in other languages like 4GL and PHP.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
4 years of programming experience in PowerBuilder with PFC libraries.
Strong experience with Agile development methodologies.
Handson experience with Informix or Oracle databases and related database tools.
Proficiency with PowerBuilder source control tools (e.g. Microsoft VSS or others).
Ability to read analyze and document program code effectively.
Strong troubleshooting skills for existing applications.
Analytical mindset to quickly grasp programming logic and business processes.
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with vendors contractors and crossfunctional teams.
Familiarity with other programming languages (e.g. 4GL PHP) and experience performing interface testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in application modernization and system migration.
Knowledge of enterpriselevel software architecture and design principles.
Background in public sector or enterpriselevel software development environments.
