Job Description

CoBank is looking for an Associate Principal DevOps Engineer who is passionate about technology and has a solid history of addressing complex business issues. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative dynamic environment and values inclusivity. As an Associate Principal DevOps Engineer at CoBank you will be responsible for employing advanced automation techniques to develop innovative products on AWS and onpremises infrastructure while keeping up with the latest technological trends. Your role will be crucial in ensuring seamless integration between development and operations teams to deliver topnotch software products within the cloud/devops/infrastructure domain. Key responsibilities include assisting in the design and architecture of CoBanks AWS footprints implementing Infrastructure as Code and Pipeline as Code using tools like Terraform and supporting complex solution implementations in a Kubernetes environment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge in these technologies and the ability to support a team in delivering stateoftheart DevOps solutions.

Essential Functions

1. Assist in designing and architecting CoBanks AWS footprints to ensure high availability scalability and security.
2. Implement Infrastructure as Code and Pipeline as Code using tools such as Terraform and Kubernetes.
3. Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like Github Action or Azure DevOps.
4. Support the development and implementation of automation solutions for infrastructure and application deployment.
5. Support the design and implementation of Kubernetes clusters.
6. Implement monitoring and logging solutions using tools like Prometheus and the ELK stack.
7. Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to define DevOps best practices and standards as well as with development teams to ensure proper deployment and testing of applications.
8. Provide technical expertise leadership and guidance to team members.
9. Support complex solution implementations and provide mentorship to junior team members on best practices and standards in DevOps.
10. Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues.

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in computer science information systems or a related field preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required

Work Experience

6 years of experience in DevOps/SRE/Cloud/IT Operations/SysAdmin engineering required
5 years with AWS GCP Microsoft Azure or other cloud services required
1. Indepth knowledge of AWS services and architecture.
2. Advanced experience with infrastructure as code and configuration management tools (Terraform Ansible etc..
3. Strong proficiency in CI/CD tools and pipelines (GitHub Actions Jenkins Azure DevOps Pipeline).
4. Advanced experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker.
5. Solid understanding of networking security and compliance in cloud environments.
6. Excellent problemsolving and troubleshooting skills.
7. Leadership skills with the ability to support complex solution implementations.
8. Strong communication and collaboration skills.

About CoBank

The typical base pay range for this role is between $131100 $161300. Compensation may vary based on individual jobrelated knowledge skills expertise and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
