WSH Civil Center of Excellence Physician 3
Western State Hospital (WSH) within theBehavioral Health Administration (BHA) is seeking a Primary Care Physician to join the team in Lakewood Pierce County Washington.
Our goal is to hire a compassionate and dynamic Physician who has the desire to work in an inpatient setting. Doctors at WSH become part of a closelyknit team of healthcare professionals who ensure that patients receive the best care possible. Working closely with multiple disciplines you will have an influential voice related to the physical and medical needs of the people we serve. You will provide medical assessment and treatment in partnership with a dedicated team that views care with a holistic approach.Opportunities performed onsite at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5 premium pay in addition to the advertised salary. Pierce County employees are eligible to receive an Orca Card for transportation needs. WSH is not driven by economics; this allows our staff the ability to focus on developing creative approaches to treatment and care. Staff hours for this Physician 3 role are regular day shift MondayFriday 8AM 4:30PM). However there may be infrequent occasions to cover additional shifts during lunchtime evenings nights or weekends Evening and Night shifts include a shift differential in addition to the standard compensation rate.
Compensation and benefits- Competitive salary including 1.25 times regular pay for additional workloads.

Your role within the hospital- Direct review and provide primary medical assessment diagnosis and treatment services to patients; prescribe necessary medication.
- Perform admission and physical examinations laboratory tests evaluations.
- Provide preventative maintenance care; formulate treatment plans.
- Review medical histories diagnostic tests medication regimes and clinical diagnostic procedures.
- Perform daily rounds and assess and treat the onset of new medical problems.
- Implement health prevention guidelines and coordinate referrals to team members as specialty consultants.
- Direct a multidisciplinary therapeutic and clinical approach to treat complex physical psychological and psychosocial conditions.
- Perform minor surgical procedures deliver emergency medical responses and mortality and morbidity reviews.
- Share Physician oncall duties during the day and call duties after administrative hours and weekends.
Your credentials- Completion of 3year residency in Internal Medicine or Family Practice in an accredited training
program recognized by the American Board of Internal Medicine or American board of Family Practice - Board Certified/qualified by the American board of Internal Medicine or American Board of Family Practice
