We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Software Development Manager to lead Blue Origins Business Operating Systems Technology team. This leader will manage a team of skilled software developers and drive them to execute an ambitious roadmap.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development outstanding leadership skills and a passion for innovation in aerospace.
The position is a part of the Enterprise Technology (ET) organization where we develop the digital infrastructure required to build the road to space and advance Blue Origins mission. Enterprise Technology serves as the center of excellence for digital technology at Blue Origin providing oversight and governance to align technology with business strategies.
We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise leadership skills and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading mentoring and growing a team of software engineers while fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Regularly presenting strategic initiatives to Sr. Directors and other executives.
- Collaborating extensively with Senior and Principal engineers to identify optimal technical architectures.
- Driving their teams operational excellence and delivering industryleading highquality technical solutions.
- Overseeing the design implementation and launch of enterprise resource planning software.
- Owning critical workstreams on complex projects.
- Optimizing software development processes to enhance productivity and quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in computer science engineering or a related field.
- 8 years of experience in software engineering with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Proven track record of successfully leading software development projects from inception to delivery.
- Strong understanding of software architecture design patterns and development methodologies.
- Experience in distributed backend systems and cloudbased environments such as AWS.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and a passion for solving complex technical challenges.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
- A passion for space exploration and a commitment to Blue Origins mission.
- Willingness to travel up to 15 of the time.
- Ability to earn trust maintain positive and professional relationships and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with manufacturing especially enterprise resource planning (ERP).
- Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements in aerospace.
Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $191265.00$267771.00Other site ranges may differ
