General Information:
The Office of Admissions is seeking reliable responsible and enthusiastic student representatives to intern with our office. Interns will give campus tours to prospective students and their guests. They will help in the daytoday workings of the visitation program giving virtual panels and tours front desk support daily tours and outreach to admitted and prospective students. Interns will work up to 20 hours per week. Tours are given in both morning and afternoon (JuneAug. on MondayFriday. Preference is given to those students available to work the entire duration of the summer from June 2 Aug. 8.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead campus tours
Learn and present information about the campus (history academics student life student services etc.
Represent the university in a positive and professional manner
Respond to visitor questions
Refer visitors to campus resources as needed
Reasonably accommodate requests of guests
Communicate with prospective and admitted students in a variety of formatsboth written and verbal
Qualifications:
Required:
Must have completed at least one semester of coursework at JMU
Must be returning to JMU for school in fall 2025
Must be available during weekdays (MondayFriday)
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent customer service skills
Prompt Reliable Responsible Professional Enthusiasm Flexibility Selfmotivated
Communication skills both written and verbal
Love of JMU
Public Speaking Audience Engagement Storytelling Adaptability
Preferred:
Experience presenting to varied groups of individuals
Students who have completed a year at JMU
Availability from June 2 2025 through August 8 2025

Conditions of Employment:
Students must be degreeseeking students enrolled on at least a halftime basis 6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
Students must have a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA.
