Position Title: Seasonal Junior Botanist & Plant Investigator Instructor
Department: Childrens Education
FLSA Status: Parttime SeasonalNonexempt
Compensation: $22 per hour
Term: June 9August 9 2025
Schedule: MondayFriday; 2235 hours per week

Position Description:
This position entails three weeks of intensive training followed by six weeks of fastpaced programming. Program instructors plan and facilitate activities to help students learn about plants do scientific exploration and create art throughout Brooklyn Botanic Garden (BBG).
Our students are Junior Botanists (new participants entering grades 57 and Plant Investigators (returning participants entering grades 68 scholarship students selected from Title I schools in Brooklyn that have partnered with BBG during the school year through our Project Green Reach outreach program. Each of the two programs has a team of two instructors and both programs work together in the Garden in the morning.
