As a member of the Colorado Community College System (CCCS) the Community College of Aurora (CCA) is dedicated to serving our surrounding community. POSITION SUMMARY
The Public Safety program is recruiting for a part time Skills Instructor. Hourly skills instructors provide handson instruction and evaluation of lab skills for EMT and paramedic students under the direction of the instructor of record for the lab course the session belongs to.
Hourly pay is $30/hour for EMT instruction and $35/hour for paramedic instruction.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides hands on skills instruction to EMT and paramedic students. Maintains equipment needed to provide instruction and informs chair when supplies need to be ordered. Other duties as assigned to support instruction of students.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Nationally Registered or Colorado certified EMT or higher level of certification including RN/BSN/MD.
Must be willing to work some nights and weekends. Must meet qualifications for a postsecondary credentials:
A related associates degree (or relevant current industry license or certification) and 4000 verified occupational/industry hours within 5 years;
OR
A related Bachelors or any Masters degree with 18 discipline related credits and 4000 verified occupational/industry hours within 5 years.
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
2 years experience teaching at postsecondary level.
2 years experience in emergency medicine either in hospital or prehospital.
Salary: Hourly pay is $30/hour for EMT instruction and $35/hour for paramedic instruction. Site training and coordination will be paid on a contract basis.
Position Specifics: This positions is parttime. There are no insurance benefits offered with these positions. However other benefits associated with this type of position include educational benefits a pension plan through the Colorado Public Employees Retirement Association and eligibility to contribute to supplemental retirement plans.
