Job Description
Position is accountable for the daily management leadership and administration of all feather and Down Inc. manufacturing operations including ensuring that production and quality goals are achieved and for continuous improvement of all manufacturing operations.
Essential Skills:
- Direct production process coordinate and communicate production activities while ensuring that the production schedule is met.
- Manage develop coach and train staff.
- Work with Human Resources to address and resolve employee relations contractual and disciplinary issues.
- Develop monitor and/or analyze production reports. Interpret and present results. Set schedule according to production requirements.
- Secure monthly water testing; secure quotes from outside services submit CORs approve and coordinate work. Responsible for ordering/followup of necessary equipment and supplies.
- Project and execute capacity plan.
- Participate in capital planning and project management. Research vendors and equipment options when delegated.
- Participate in budgeting process by analyzing data and anticipating future expenses.
- Report all municipal monthly semiannual and annual reports.
- Ensure quality and quantity of daily production items for shipping; confirms shipping is completed.
- Responsible for all safety requirements of production facility and feather operation.
- Oversee production of any new product(s).
- Performs related duties as required.
Ability to direct daily operating procedures.
Ability to effectively communicate with production staff and resolve conflicts as needed.
Ability to evaluate and prioritize departmental needs.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and problem solve in at timely manner.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems on the production line and consult with Maintenance when necessary.
Working knowledge of standard operating procedures employee handbook and company policies.
Working Climate:
Position regularly requires sitting standing bending reaching and moving about the facility. May be exposed to shop elements such as noise and dust. Requires periodic travel.
