Job Description
Reporting to the Assistant Manager Production Planning & Supply Management the Lead Production Scheduler is responsible for examining and analyzes production specifications and capacity data optimizing production throughput to meet customer demand. Leading a team of Material planners and running SOP discussions to ensure customer satisfaction.
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:
- Lead a team of Material Planners ensuring requirements are executed to plan and ontime
- Effectively and efficiently schedule resources that support the needs of the customer.
- Support process improvements pertaining to customer service and operational KPIs.
- Work with the department leads to set and maintain the capacity levels within our ERP system.
- Complete status reports for production progress and work in process.
- Monitor priorities commitments and review the production plans and deliveries.
- Measure the ontime performance of resources
- Create and publish daily/weekly production plans.
- Coordinate changes in schedules
- Participate in setting production scheduling metrics/targets.
- Follow up with lead hands/supervisors during shift meetings to determine if work is on schedule.
- Execute SOP meetings ensuring Sales and Operations are aligned
- Participate and lead Kaizen events
Minimum Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management or Operations Management
- Degree in Industrial Engineering an asset.
- APICS professional designation in CPIM CSCP considered an asset.
- 5 years of experience in production planning demand scheduling master scheduling capacity planning procurement or equivalent supply chain role.
- Experience leading a team.
- Ability to thrive in a fastpaced deadlineoriented environment.
- Experience with the use of ERP systems with a preference for using Oracle.
- Lean Manufacturing exposure
- Ability to adapt to meet changing needs.
- Collaborative team player who enjoys working across departments and teams.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Proficient in MS applications ERP software Oracle and other relevant software.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Strong problemsolving and troubleshooting skills.
Physical Effort:
Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the daytoday activity in the workplace. May involve standing sitting walking climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 5kg/11lbs
