Description

Reporting to the Assistant Manager Production Planning & Supply Management the Lead Production Scheduler is responsible for examining and analyzes production specifications and capacity data optimizing production throughput to meet customer demand. Leading a team of Material planners and running SOP discussions to ensure customer satisfaction.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead a team of Material Planners ensuring requirements are executed to plan and ontime
  • Effectively and efficiently schedule resources that support the needs of the customer.
  • Support process improvements pertaining to customer service and operational KPIs.
  • Work with the department leads to set and maintain the capacity levels within our ERP system.
  • Complete status reports for production progress and work in process.
  • Monitor priorities commitments and review the production plans and deliveries.
  • Measure the ontime performance of resources
  • Create and publish daily/weekly production plans.
  • Coordinate changes in schedules
  • Participate in setting production scheduling metrics/targets.
  • Follow up with lead hands/supervisors during shift meetings to determine if work is on schedule.
  • Execute SOP meetings ensuring Sales and Operations are aligned
  • Participate and lead Kaizen events

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management or Operations Management
  • Degree in Industrial Engineering an asset.
  • APICS professional designation in CPIM CSCP considered an asset.
  • 5 years of experience in production planning demand scheduling master scheduling capacity planning procurement or equivalent supply chain role.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced deadlineoriented environment.
  • Experience with the use of ERP systems with a preference for using Oracle.
  • Lean Manufacturing exposure
  • Ability to adapt to meet changing needs.
  • Collaborative team player who enjoys working across departments and teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Proficient in MS applications ERP software Oracle and other relevant software.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Strong problemsolving and troubleshooting skills.

Physical Effort:

Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the daytoday activity in the workplace. May involve standing sitting walking climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 5kg/11lbs
