The Better Education Donation Fund (BEDFund) is an endowment fund for Queens Engineering students that exists to give students access to resources beyond the bare minimum needed for their classes advanced lab equipment highquality fabrication spaces and specialized tools are just a few examples.The BEDFund Head Manager works with the Director ofAcademics to ensure the smooth daytoday operation of the Fund. Specific responsibilities include...
- Ensuring purchases are made
- Maintaining financial records and records of what is done with purchases
- Planning for idea generation events (helping come up with potential purchases!
- Reviewing proposed purchases before they are approved (along with the Director of Academics and EngSoc President)
Applicants to this position must...
- Have strong organizational skills
- Be comfortable with professional communication both written and oral
- Be able to effectively balance their time and meet deadlines
- Want to make the Queens Engineering experience the best that it can be!!
As well some of the following can be helpful helpful (but is not necessary! for the role:
- Experience in a management/organizational role
- Experience in a financial management/oversight bookkeeping or budgeting role
Remember that the positiondoes not require experience. While it may be helpful applicants with no prior experience can still be successful in the role and are encouraged to apply!
