As a result of our continued growth we are seeking highly skilled and experienced Corporate & Commercial Associates and Senior Associates to join our team in Brisbane. The Culture

  • You will be part of a dynamic team working closely with dedicated Principals and will develop your skills across all areas of corporate and commercial advisory particularly in the areas of Intellectual Property (IP) Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and business structuring advice

  • Our unique 6 1 1 model of agreeing with our associates and senior associates to work for the firms clients for 6 hours a day and to actively enable them to invest in business development 1 hour per day) and qualifications and learning 1 hour per day) means that we are coinvesting with you.
  • Momentum. Its exciting to be part of something strong and positive isnt it Just ask our most recent corporate and commercial partners both who started with us as clerks during their time at university. We are growing in the Brisbane market and we are building out our corporate and commercial teams in other national offices.

Key Responsibilities

The core responsibilities of these roles include:

  • Undertaking M&A transactions and cradle to grave transaction services assistance;
  • Conducting legal research and drafting technical advice;
  • Drafting and negotiating legal agreements and contracts including shareholder agreements sale and purchase agreements and licensing agreements;
  • Assisting with and attending marketing and business development activities;
  • Managing client relationships and providing highquality service to clients;
  • Mentoring and supervising junior solicitors and support staff as well as assisting with team management and;
  • Working collaboratively with other teams in the firm.

Requirements

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • We are open minded and want to ensure we keep our mind open. You could have anywhere from 320 years post admission experience with experience across a broad range of corporate and commercial matters.
  • A commercial mindset with a focus on delivering practical and commercially sound advice to clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and work collaboratively with other solicitors and support staff.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering highquality work.
