Job Description

At Fonoa we are transforming how digitalfirst companies stay tax compliant. We provide simple and modular API solutions that easily integrate into any existing workflow. Through our technology first approach we reduce manual processes increase compliance and reduce the cost of operations when transacting and scaling internationally.

We are solving one of the largest yet unsolved problems in global ecommerce. Our tax automation software enables companies such as Uber ZoomBooking Squarespace and Rappi to expand their international offerings more quickly and stay tax compliant.

As a Tax Technology Specialist in EInvoicing you will be responsible for scoping and then building the tax technical content of our product as we expand country coverage. Reporting to our Senior Tax Manager you will work alongside a highly skilled crossfunctional EInvoicing and Digital Reporting team.

What you will do:

  • As a skilled researcher adept at reading legislation from various countries you will monitor einvoicing and digital reporting requirements globally analyze for impact and deliver information to relevant stakeholders.
  • In addition to working with our product team you will be responsible for creating content to support our sales and marketing team. You will help us better deliver our value proposition and content to the tax community.

Requirements:

  • At least two years of experience in indirect tax
  • Experience researching einvoicing and digital reporting legislation regulations and technical documentation inhouse or at a thirdparty provider.
  • Ability to support the Product team with research and communicate technical tax issues clearly to nontax team members (eg. engineers sales and marketing).
  • Relevant tax education and broad knowledge of current and upcoming digital reporting laws and regulations.
  • Ability to thrive in a startup environment where flexibility adaptability and positivity are key.
  • Like to solve problems turning complex problems into simple solutions.
  • Are selfdirected and capable of working autonomously.
  • Passionate about technology and innovation.
  • Native or close to native proficiency in English secondary languages are a plus.
