AgeCare is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our dynamic Finance team at our Calgary office! Reporting to the Manager Financial Reporting this role will be instrumental in financial reporting addressing technical accounting matters and driving process improvements. What You Will Do:
- Producing accurate and reliable financial data including consolidated Ministry of Health reconciliations and envelope balancing monthly.
- Prepare validate and submit all Ministry reporting including but not limited to the staffing report subsidy worksheet MOH Annual Reconciliation and OHRS Management Information System report. Responsible for analyzing information to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Assist with financial statements preparation and debt covenant reporting.
- Analyzing specific MOH accounts related to onetime funding based on reporting requirements.
- Actively participate in monthend journal entries and reconciliation process.
- Prepare variance and ad hoc financial analysis for internal stakeholders including benchmarking for MOH reporting.
- Assisting in annual budget analysis and preparation related to envelopes funded and balancing in collaboration with management and operations as necessary.
- Continuously striving to identify develop and implement efficiencies in finance processes and reporting.
- Assist with the preparing and accounting for acquisitions business combinations and transaction costs.
- Responsible for maintaining strong internal controls and suggesting improvements.
- Indirectly supervises and mentors team members in the finance area and motivates and leads by example.
- Performing special projects as assigned.

What You Bring:
- Education: Bachelors degree in accounting or a related field; with a Chartered Professional Accountant designation.
- Experience: 5 years experience in financial accounting and reporting or equivalent work experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Strong technical problem identification and resolution skills with proven attention to detail.
- High time management skills with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks/deadlines within a fastpaced environment.
- Excellent communication both verbal and written and organization skills.
- Proven ability to work within a teamoriented environment with the ability to manage work and lead a work stream.
- Must be prepared to work flexible hours to meet monthly quarterly and annual close and reporting deadlines.
- Must be able to provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check including a Criminal Background Check or be willing to obtain one.
