Position Summary:
The Warehouse Operator will be responsible for assisting in the daytoday physical operations and appearance of Connecticut Foodshares Warehouse in accordance with Feeding Americas standards. This individual will report to Warehouse Management in Wallingford.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Picks and stages orders for distribution to branches and member agencies.
- Stores product appropriately (dry freezer and cooler) in a reasonably accessible manner.
- Receives and unloads all incoming shipments and loads trucks for outgoing shipments.
- Inspects all donations and reports any problems to Warehouse Manager.
- Accurately counts and completes all associated paperwork.
- Assists with quality control and inventory.
- Identifies and escalates issues to senior team members in a timely manner.
- Performs daily inspection of equipment.
- Maintains a clean work environment free of hazards in compliance with OSHA GMP and AIB standards.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Lifting up to 60 lbs. required for inventory storage.
Preferred Education/Experience:
- 2 years progressively responsible experience in similar or related function.
- Experience in general warehousing.
- Pallet jack/forklift certification.
