The Business Intelligence Engineer is involved in the preparation and development of key business intelligence to enable efficient effective and commercially focussed performance reporting within the business in a timely and efficient manner.
As a Business Intelligence Engineer your tasks will include the following:
- Design and develop data ETL processes.
- Develop interactive dashboards reports and visualizations in Power BI to support business decisionmaking.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract manipulate and analyze data from relational databases.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to gather and understand business requirements translating them into effective BI solutions.
- Maintain data accuracy integrity and security throughout the BI development lifecycle.
- Continuously monitor BI tools and solutions focusing on performance improvements automation and scalability.
- Analyze data to uncover trends patterns and opportunities for optimization.
- Create visually compelling and actionable Power BI reports that transform complex data into insights.
- Perform datamanipulation and transformation within the Power BI environment.
- Identify data anomalies trends and patterns providing actionable recommendations for improvements.
- Assist in maintaining data quality and compliance with governance policies ensuring consistency and reliability.
- Stay updated on emerging BI tools and practices applying relevant innovations to improve solutions.
What we look for:
- Academic background in Computer Science Analytics Information Systems or a related field.
- Experience as a BI professional with a focus on Power BI SQL and Azure.
- Experience in designing and developing interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI (Dax and M language).
- Familiarity with power automate and power apps is preferred.
- Problemsolving skills and the ability to tackle challenges independently or collaboratively.
- Effective communication and presentation abilities to convey complex concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
- Knowledge in Python will be considered a plus.

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)
Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.
If working on the SELT service in the UK background checks will include:
- A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
- Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality identity and place of residence)
- HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Check (CTC)
- Financial background check
- Employment reference check.
- If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK.
In addition if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) the official language of the relevant country.
