Job Description
Therapeutic Recreation student will complete the necessary requirements in accordance with the N.C.T.R.C. Internship Standards.
Required Qualifications
Must be enrolled at an accredited college or university; Must be in good academic standing as determined by the college or university; Students may receive compensation for their internship depending upon the availability of City funds. The length of the internship may vary depending on the students curriculum. The length must be approved by the department director and the students designated supervisor. Students participating in the Internship Program will be responsible for: Providing their own transportation to and from work; Arriving at the work site at the time designated by the work site supervisor; Performing the tasks assigned by the vocational instructor/coordinator and the work site supervisor in an efficient manner; Demonstrating honesty punctuality courtesy a cooperative attitude appropriate dress and a willingness to learn; and Conforming to the guidelines of the internship work site. The college intern will be evaluated by the departments designated supervisor using the assigned departments performance evaluation form or an evaluation form provided by the university/college internship coordinator.
Work Schedule
Approximately 40 hours/week for 14 weeks. This will meet the 560 hours as required by the National Therapeutic Recreation Association (N.C.T.R.C. Internship Standards. Unless you are completing a Junior Internship where we will follow school requirements for weekly/total hours.
