Job Description

The provosts office seeks up to 3 graduate student assistants to support the implementation of a SCHEV grant aimed at transforming Federal Work Study (FWS) opportunities into internship experiences for students across Grounds. Students who have been awarded FWS are encouraged to apply though this position is also open to students who do not receive FWS.

In addition to increasing the number of FWS job opportunities for qualified students particularly with community partners the Federal Work Study Internship (FWSI) program aims to provide training and support for supervisors to maximize students experiential learning within current FWS positions.

The FWSI program is a collaborative effort across the Provosts office Career Center and Student Financial Services. Graduate assistants will serve as key members of the grant implementation team and be aligned with the specific work of one of these three offices.

Graduate assistants will be engaged with:

  • Marketing and outreach to managers across Grounds and within the community
  • Curriculum development and manager training
  • Benchmarking and ongoing data collection and analysis and
  • Annual program review and assessment.

No prior related experience is required. However applicants should have demonstrated dependability flexibility attention to detail collaboration and strong communication skills.

The anticipated start date is July 2025 with the potential for graduate assistants to continue in their roles for the extent of the grant period (up to 3 years). Graduate assistants will work between 10-20 hours per week at $20/hour during the academic semester.
