FACILITIES WORKER

TITLE:Facilities Worker

LOCATION:661 Main Street 75 Martha 637 Main Street 777 Sargent 167 Logan Common outdoor spaces

DEPARTMENT:Facilities

REPORTS TO:Director of Operations

WAGE: Starting at $20.03


SCHEDULE (Fulltime):

Saturday 1:30 PM 10:00 PM

Sunday 10:30 AM 7:00 PM

Monday 7:30 AM 4:30 PM

two other evenings 1:30 PM 10:00 PM) which can be any combination of Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday


ABOUT THE COMPANY

Main Street Project (MSP) is a community health Centre with a mandate to address the social determinants of health which give rise to issues of addiction physical and mental health issues and homelessness. MSP uses housingfirst and harm reduction principles in the provision of a safe respectful and accessible place for individuals who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in the community. Since 1972 MSP has been providing a range of services to Winnipegs most marginalized residents including emergency shelter and nutrition services drug and alcohol withdrawal management services health advocacy and support case management services housing support services food bank services and a mobile community outreach program.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance worker position ensures that Main Street Project (MSP) buildings both interior and exterior are always kept clean and in good repair which includes snow removal icesanding completing ongoing maintenance requirements including preventative maintenance reviews and notifying Director of Operations of required repairs.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Minor plumbing issues (e.g. unclogging drains etc.

Simple Carpentry (e.g. dry wall patching door replacement etc.

Painting

Removal/installation/assembly of furniture and fixtures
