The School Social Worker isresponsible for serving multiple schools addressing social and emotional needsthat impact student learning. They assist in developing attendance improvementplans with students and families to address barriers that may impact theirschool attendance. The School Social Worker meets with students and families atschool and in their homes to develop interventions re-entry and short termcounseling plans for students who have been referred for intervention.. TheSchool Social Worker works in collaboration with the building administrationstudent support personnel mental health agencies and community resources. TheSchool Social Worker provides crisis intervention during school emergencies andprovides information to students and families regarding community resources andlinks them to community resources as needed. The School Social Workermaintains documentation and monitors attendance of students who are notattending regularly and may file truancy based on the Ohio Revised Code. TheSchool Social Worker adheres to the ethical standards of the NationalAssociation of Social Work
Licensure Requirements: Current LSW or LSW and current School Social Worker Pupil Services License through the Ohio Department of Education
