Job Description

501468 Launched Effects Engineer

Work Location: Huntsville AL

Schedule: Full Time

Relocation: Negotiable

IronMountain Solutions Inc. is seeking a highly qualified Launched Effects Engineer supporting the Utility Helicopter Program Office (UHPO) within PEO AVN in the Huntsville AL area.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Executing systems engineering in support our customer at Redstone Arsenal AL to evaluate prototype designs integrate test systems and subsystems associated with the development of Launched Effects (LE) Launcher onto the H60 platform.
  • Participate in design reviews for launcher hardware and software design development integration and qualification.
  • Collaborate with Airworthiness stakeholders to develop AQP/AQS for Launcher integration onto H60 platform.
  • Manage the systems requirements baseline and updates document system risks and mitigation strategies participate in the Risk and Opportunities Manage Board (ROMB) along with the prime contractor and support weapon systems integration through verification & validation activities.
  • Define schedules assign and execute tasks and monitor program to completion.
  • Provide oversight of integration and checkout activities evaluate and report results and approve/disapprove each by determining whether results meet the requirements.
  • Develop maintain and identify improvements for the planning organization implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes tools risk issues opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
  • Coordinate with system and subsystem stakeholders to identify and resolve platform integration requirements for LE launcher
  • Collaborate with the prime contractor to evaluate test case(s) mapping to requirements to identify gaps and/or overlaps and make recommendations to resolve any identified issues
  • Contribute to efforts to troubleshoot and solve complex weapon system problems.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use tools or controls; normal physical activity (reach with hands and arms; climb stairs); and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and leadership. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies up to 25 pounds.

Education and General experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Systems Engineering Electrical Engineering Physics Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • 5 years of experience in systems engineering of complex systems
  • Experience with Army or DoD systems
  • Prototype development
  • Systems Engineering/Risk Analysis
  • Technical Data Package (TDP) Experience
  • Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
  • Quality
  • Supply Chain and Industrial Base

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) (e.g. MagicDraw)
  • Comprehension of a variety of engineering disciplines to support system level discussions and impacts
  • Airworthiness experience with DoD manned platforms and/or subsystems
  • Experience with kinetic payload integration onto manned platforms

Clearance Requirements: Must have an Active Secret Security Clearance
