The Quality Engineer Nuclear is responsible for ensuring compliance with nuclear quality assurance standards regulations and protocols. This role involves the development implementation and management of quality systems that support safe and efficient nuclear process including design sourcing stock control production training and servicing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Management Systems (QMS): Develop implement and maintain quality management systems in accordance with ISO 9001 10 CFR 50 Appendix B ASME NQA1 CSA N299 and other relevant nuclear standards.
- Compliance and Auditing: Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards including nuclear regulatory bodies (e.g. NRC ONR IAEA).
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain quality assurance documentation including quality plans inspection and test plans and audit reports.
- Supplier Quality Management: Evaluate and monitor suppliers and contractors to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the quality systems and contribute to process optimisation initiatives.
- Risk Management: Support risk assessments and the development of mitigation strategies related to quality and safety.
- Incident Investigation: Support root cause analysis and corrective action processes for qualityrelated incidents.
- Training and Development: Provide training to staff and contractors on quality standards processes and best practices.

- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse complex quality issues and develop practical solutions.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in documentation and process assessments.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex quality issues clearly.

- Compliance audit scores.
- Effectiveness of QMS.
- Timeliness of quality documentation and reporting.
- Number of quality related incidents and corrective actions taken.
Qualifications :
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering Quality Management or a related field.
- Certifications: Quality Management certification (e.g. ISO 9001 Lead Auditor ASME NQA1 is desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in quality systems within the nuclear or a highly regulated industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in quality management software and tools as well as MS Office applications.
