Job Description:
The Work:
- Reviews patient history and physicians orders
- Educates patient regarding procedures equipment and exam to ensure patients understanding and cooperation
- When ordered prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice
- Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate
- Prepares equipment and supplies
- Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment
- Troubleshoots resolves and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary
- Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s)
- Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues including repositioning patient and repeating procedure
- Enters transmits and reports exam findings
- Rotate to other MaineGeneral Imaging sites as needed/scheduled
You Have:
- Active registration as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT) required
- Current State of Maine License for Radiological Technology/Radiographer (RT) required
- 1 or more year of previous experience including Mammography experience preferred but willing to train
- Mammography certification (ARRT)
- Critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to operate and excel in a healthcare environment with many inherent stressors
