Description

Vertiv is hiring a Manager Strategic Sourcing in Westerville OH who will be responsible for leading a team of Sourcing Managers and driving them to maximize supplier ontime delivery performance and localization of suppliers. This role will support the Americas region but is expected to work with other regions especially when it relates to global suppliers to share best practices and standardize global processes where applicable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages team of employees and drives them to meet our organizations goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for and drives team to maximize supplier ontime delivery supplier regionalization objectives supply base management goals and other Procurement objectives for AMER Procurement organization.
  • Ensures that performance data accurately reflects performance and works with Procurement Systems & Analytics team as well as IT to capture data accurately and efficiently and maximize its integrity.
  • Work cross functionally with Category Management Supplier Quality Purchasing Planning Materials Management Operations Master Data Management Engineering IT and VOS/Process Improvement groups to improve internal processes related to the Strategic Sourcing team.
  • Collaborate with other Vertiv internal functions and drive to make process improvements that help improve Strategic Sourcing objectives.
  • Expand cost reduction pipelines.
  • Support Vertivs Strategic Objectives by working to ensure Supplier Performance meets/exceeds needs of internal and/or external Customers.
  • Collaborate with Sourcing and Project Management teams to ensure we maximize the big picture AMER Strategic Sourcing and Procurement goals.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with strategic and critical suppliers.
  • Demonstrate and provide leadership in supplier business reviews.
  • Support attainment of Vertiv global Supply Chain Digitalization objectives including but not limited to maximization of supplier portal usage compliance by supply base.
  • Gather data and provide administrative support for Procurement presentations to senior leadership.
  • Leads crossfunctional executive meetings and presents performance progress and improvement strategies to executive leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Supply Chain Business Engineering or related area required.
  • 715 years experience in Procurement/Supply Chain/Supplier Performance
  • ISM or ASCM certification preferred
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma Continuous Improvement/Operational Excellence preferred (Green Belt Black Belt Lean Certified etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
  • A strong business acumen
  • Strong communication and relationshipbuilding skills with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Process improvement skills
  • Project Management Skills Ability to organize and schedule people and tasks
  • Highly organized and can multitask

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • BS/BA in Supply Chain Business Engineering or related area required.
