Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all activities at your workstation ensuring that food is prepared and cooked to the restaurants high standards.
- Enforce consistency and quality control across all dishes served.
- Assist the Chef de Cuisine in daily operations including profitability expense management purchasing labor oversight regulatory compliance and special projects.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to team members fostering a culture of growth and development.
Key Job Duties:
- Assist with the preparation and presentation of highquality dishes as directed by the Chef de Cuisine.
- Operate your designated station efficiently ensuring all stations are properly set prior to service.
- Train and supervise staff to maintain adherence to the restaurants quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) program and Florida health and safety regulations.
- Maintain positive customer relations particularly when interacting with guests in public areas of the restaurant.
- Report any product concerns to the Chef to maximize product usage and reduce waste.
- Step in for the Chef de Cuisine when necessary.
- Assist with ordering receiving and other assigned duties as needed.
- Collaborate with the Chef de Cuisine to create new dishes and menus based on seasonal availability and business needs.
- Ensure a smooth and productive kitchen flow upholding the restaurants high standards.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Strong understanding of Florida health and safety regulations including sanitation protocols and OSHA standards.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment proper usage and maintenance.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management staff and guests.
- Completion of a culinary or cook apprenticeship program preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong interpersonal motivational and teambuilding skills.
- Ability to coach and mentor others in a positive constructive manner.
- Proficiency in email Microsoft Office and kitchen operations software.
- Advanced knowledge of food safety and regulatory policies applicable to the food industry.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role preferably in an upscale or highvolume kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen processes equipment and safety protocols.
- Ability to delegate tasks effectively and step into leadership roles when necessary.
- Experience managing food and labor costs.
- Strong decisionmaking and leadership skills.
- Adaptability to hightraffic highpressure kitchen environments.
