Job Description
Overview
In this position you will use your C expertise to develop highlyperformant map production software that simplifies usage through a combination of user interface and automated processes. Your work will help a growing global cohort of maritime professionals design and maintain oceanic spatial data infrastructure at ports coastal and deepsea engineering sites and for safe riverine and marine navigation. You will be a part of GIS developer communities to imagine the capabilities of locationaware software applications that enable realworld data and analysis improvements.
This team supports the ArcGIS Maritime and Bathymetry products. As a full stack software development engineer you will build software that manages the knowledge of the 70 of our planet that is blue to create and curate products that are fit for purpose across the maritime domain. You will be part of a talented crossfunctional team of dynamic and passionate engineers who deliver capabilities that enable our customers to make a difference in communities around the world.
The Professional Services division is the consulting and implementation arm of Esri. We break ground in new markets push the technology envelope and ultimately deliver transformational solutions to high profile clients worldwide. The Professional Services organization is comprised of nearly 1000 talented business and technical professionals who strive every day to help our users be successful. This product team works closely with solution delivery consultants to envision and then make real the emerging requirements in industry government and other user communities.
Responsibilities
- Use C and C# to develop fullstack GIS applications
- Build software that follows industrystandard design patterns development methodologies and deployment models
- Design test and release capabilities in the ArcGIS system to improve overall application quality
- Solve complex problems with application design development and user experiences
- Collaborate with other developers engineers and product managers throughout the development process
- Work effectively in an Agile Scrum team environment
Requirements
- 5 years of professional experience in a similar position supporting similar responsibilities
- Strong foundation in objectoriented software principles
- Ability to analyze software/algorithms and identify improvements
- Experience with software development using C and C# or Java
- Bachelors in computer science mathematics or transdisciplinary GIS or Engineering and computer science program
Recommended Qualifications
- Experience in developing C COM components
- Experience in UI development using XAML/WPF
- Experience using MVVM design pattern
- Knowledge of building RESTful GMLbased and STACbased web services
- Knowledge of scripting languages (JavaScript Python)
- Knowledge of Esri products or similar GIS or spatial software
- Experience developing against relational databases including Oracle SQL Server and PostgreSQL
- Experience using Git as source management system in large teams
- Experience using Visual Studio for software development
- Masters in computer science mathematics or STEM related field
