You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Coordinator for Residential Engagement is responsible for planning and executing residence hall events coordinating with staff and advising on student programming boards to enhance residential engagement. It includes managing space reservations in and around the residence halls and representing Residence Life on universitywide committees and signature programs. The position also requires participation in official functions and committees at various levels. Providing support to the Assistant Director of Student Engagement and handling additional tasks as assigned are integral parts of the role. Overall the focus is on fostering community supporting student engagement and managing logistical and programmatic aspects of Residence Life activities.
Oversee Residence Life Space reservations. Both inside the residence halls and outdoor space around the residence halls.
Participate and represent the University Division and department on committees and at official functions.
The following Degree is required:
Bachelors degree required. Degree must be conferred at the time of application.
The following Experience is required:
1 year of experience working in a housing or residence life operation
1 year advising students
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of college student development theory
Experience in developing and facilitating workshops and in leadership and service learning
Knowledge of residence hall operations and front desk operations
Experience with undergraduate staff supervision
Experience planning developing managing and reconciling budgets
Prior work with crisis management and student conduct
Excellent interpersonal and written communication and administrative skills and a demonstrated desire to work with diverse individuals and groups
Experience with recruitment training and selection of staff
Experience with student organization advising
Knowledge of academic leadership or diversity programming theory and trends
Ability to work on several projects concurrently
Basic computer skills budget management skills and creative problem solving
