Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team dedicated to designing and developing Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). In this role you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to design prototype and produce the next generation of unmanned aircraft. Your expertise will help transform requirements into innovative and reliable design solutions that exceed customer expectations.
The Agile Development Group (ADG) specializes in developing disruptive nextgeneration technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV) advanced radar systems nextgeneration weapon systems and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience.
Essential Functions:
- Provide creative and innovative design solutions that meet product requirements for our unmanned air vehicle product lines
- Work closely with Aero and Electrical Engineers to collaborate on effective solutions to design challenges.
- Support conceptual and detail design processes by using your background in CAD design (preferably PTC Creo).
- Provide support to structural and thermal analysis tasks that are based on making the most efficient aircraft possible
- Provide experiencedbased insight to Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads
- Present data in design review settings (e.g. PDR CDR) both internal and external
- Provide strong contributions to the overall product design dialogue from inception to production.
- Provide handson support during integration activities. Strong mechanical skills are required to include experience with fabrication and assembly of mechanical systems.
- Provide material review board contributions by determining disposition for nonconformances
- This role requires your presence onsite. Hybrid and remote options are not available for this position.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearances as required
- Up to 10 travel may be required
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical engineering or similar field and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
- Minimum 3 years experience in mechanical design requirements analysis specification generation interface definition component selection component 3D CAD modeling data collection and product documentation
- Professional experience in design for and testing of products
- 3 years experience in 3D CAD modeling
- Experience using Microsoft Office products
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active Secret clearance highly preferred
- PTC Creo preferred
- Experience in mechanical thermal or kinematic analysis
- Prior experience in developing UAV or aircraft structures or subsystems
- Experience in packaging electronics
- Strong handson capabilities to include integration and diagnosis of complex mechanisms and products
- Excellent communication skills (written verbal & presentation)
